Creative Quarterly 56

Last month, on June 12th, I received notice that two of my illustrations had been selected for Creative Quarterly 56! One illustration, entitled Brain Fogged, was voted a winner and will be published in the print journal in October 2019. The second illustration, entitled Caged, was voted a runner-up and will be published in the online gallery, also in October 2019. Both pieces were personal, unpublished works.

A big thanks to Creative Quarterly and to the judges of CQ56!

The Inaugural Post

My name is Madeline McMahon. I am a Boston born illustrator who graduated from Parsons School of Design in May of 2017 with a BFA in Illustration.

This News section of my website will be used to document my illustration process for personal and professional projects, and to share announcements, such as awards, publications, features, etc. It might also feature some thoughts/opinions about the books I’m reading (mostly inspired sketches—no lengthy book reviews, I promise), and other sources of inspiration.

The next few posts will be a bit dated, featuring updates from earlier this year. But, hey, maybe they’ll be new to you.

In the meantime, please enjoy this carousel of personal illustrations I made in the last two months or so:
